Learn the names of the Taijiquan 24-style form
Commonly used terms for the movements in the Yang style 24-form (aka Beijing Form). Each term includes the Chinese character, the pinyin transliteration, the common meaning, each character's literal translation, and a guide to pronouncing it correctly. If your browser supports audio, we also include a sample audio of the pronunciation. Note that some instructors may have different names for some of the movements, but the movements themselves should follow this sequence.
The first entry is the correct pronunciation and translation for Taijiquan itself along with each character. Many people get this wrong due to the spelling when using the older Wades-Giles method of transliteration.
