Autumn 2007: "The Importance of Embryonic Breathing"
Embryonic Breathing is a technique that allows you to store the Qi at the Real Dan Tian (elixir field), in the center of your abdomen.
Spring 2013: "The Practice of Embryonic Breathing"
It does not matter what the goal of your practice is, whether health, longevity, or spiritual enlightenment, without Embryonic Breathing, your achievement will be shallow, if not impossible.
Winter 2014: "Classical Taiji Sword"
Many martial artists, even those who have studied Chinese martial arts for many
years, still have a number of questions about the structure, use, history, and geographical background of the Chinese straight sword (jian, 劍). This is because most students of Chinese martial arts have not also studied Chinese culture. Very little of the available martial literature has been translated into European language.
Autumn 2015: "Jing Martial Power"
Many martial artists nowadays do not understand what jing is or think that it is
trained in only a few particular styles. Some even brag that the style they have learned is the only style that has jing training. In fact, almost all Oriental martial styles train jing. The differences lie in the depth to which jing is understood, in the different kinds of jing trained, and in the range and characteristics of the
emphasized jing.
Spring 2019: "The Dao De Jing, A Qigong Interpretation"
A translation and commentary of the first and last chapters of the Dao De Jing (TaoTe Ching) from a Qigong perspective. Perhaps the best description of this article comes from the last paragraph, “For any practitioner who wishes to learn qigong at a profound level, he must first understand the meaning and concepts of Dao, taiji, wuji, and yin-yang. The entire qigong theory and practice are built on these basic concepts. Without this foundation, your qigong understanding and practice will be shallow.”
Summer 2021: "The Theory of Taiji Pushing Hands"
Taijiquan pushing hands theory is deep and wide and covers many related subjects. The basic concept of taiji pushing hands is to master the skills of eight basic jing patterns and the Five Steppings (ba men wu bu, 八門五步). Once you have learned and mastered these skills, you will be able to perform pushing hands actions effectively and eventually you will be able to develop your skills of freestyle sparring.
Spring 2022: "Scientific Foundation of Brain Washing Qìgong"
It was recognized long ago that there are two specific points in the human body that are two poles of a very important polarity. They were considered of the utmost importance for health and well-being. One was determined to be the center of the head, and it was named “Mud Pill Palace” or “Upper Dāntián”. The other was identified as the center of gravity (i.e., your physical center) and named “Real Lower Dāntián”).
Spring 2023: "The Root of Chinese Qigong: One Hundred and One Questions"
Because many of the Qìgōng practices have been kept secret in the past, many theories and methods have been passed down randomly. Only in the last twenty years have most of these secrets been revealed to the general public. Even so, because of the long years of secrecy, many
of the documents that are available to us remain incomplete or unconfirmed. Some of the questions may remain mysteries, since I firmly believe that nobody is able to reach the level of Qìgōng practice attained by earlier masters.
Summer 2024: "How Do Chinese Treat Arthritis?"
In this article, Dr. Yang summarizes, some of the methods commonly used in China to prevent arthritis, to ease its pain, and to cure it. He then focuses the discussion on how qigong uses massage (including cavity press) and exercises to prevent and cure arthritis. He then points out the differences in how Western and Chinese medicine use massage and exercise to treat arthritis.
